Volunteering - Preparation
Each year the organising committees put together a programme of preparation for new and experienced helpers.
The Practical Preparation day normally takes place on a Sunday in June and consists of induction on:

Safe moving and handling techniques |

Hygiene - hand washing, infection control, etc |

Tips on feeding sick pilgrims |
|
Tips on washing/dressing sick pilgrims |
|
Safe operation of wheelchairs |
|
Acceptable behaviour and code of conduct awareness |
|
Question and answers sessions |
In addition, a spiritual preparation night is also held for volunteers to prepare spiritually for their trip.
